Apple-Chicken Skewers

Ingredients
  

  • 14 oz chicken breast fillets
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • salt & pepper
  • 3 tbsp Calvados (apple brandy)
  • 2 sprigs thyme
  • 1 pinch of chili powder
  • 2 tart apples e.g., Granny Smith

Instructions
 

  • Wash the chicken breast fillets. Pat them dry and cut into bite-sized cubes.
  • Peel the garlic cloves and mince.
  • Combine the oil with salt and pepper, 1 tbsp of Calvados, thyme, and chili powder. Place the chicken in the marinade. Let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  • Wash and core the apples. Cut into cubes. Mix the remaining Calvados with some salt and brush the apple pieces with it.
  • Now alternately thread apple pieces and chicken onto the skewers.
  • Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown.

Notes

Fresh baguette or flatbread and a garlic dip go well with the apple-chicken skewers.
