Recipe for Cinnamon Apple Overnight Oats: The Breakfast of (Late-Rising) Champions

Okay, we’ll admit it, this recipe isn’t exactly zero effort. There is some prep that you will have to commit to, but rest assured, it’s really the bare minimum. You only need ten minutes the night before to make sure that you have a rich and delicious bowl of oatmeal the next morning. We do promise that making your oats is a no-fuss no-muss process.

First, wash, peel, and core two apples. Grate the fruit and then mix it with the remaining ingredients: milk, rolled oats, applesauce, raisins, and a bit of brown sugar and ground cinnamon to bring it all home. For dolling out your mix, you’ll need four jars, preferably sealable ones. Divide your mix, of course, evenly between them.

Thanks to the sealable jars, whether screw-top or snap-on, you can easily take your cinnamon apple overnight oats on the go, whether for lunch at the office or as an after-game snack for the kids.

Feel free to customize your cinnamon apple oats to your like. Forget the raisins if that’s not your vibe, add nuts, or opt for different sweeteners or none at all! The world is your oyster, and so is your bowl of oatmeal.

Here’s another tip: If you’re vegan, these cinnamon apple overnight oats are easy to adapt—just use plant-based milk (like oat or almond) and you’re good to go.
