Equipment

  • Pot
  • Silicone molds

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tsp agar powder
  • 2 tbsp ground brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp sugar beet syrup

Instructions

  • Pour the water and agar powder into a pot and bring to boil. The water should boil for two minutes before you pour it into round, silicone molds.
  • Refrigerate the molds for 12 hours.
  • To serve, carefully remove the 'raindrops' from the molds. This is done easily by dipping the bottom of the molds into a bowl of warm water. Garnish with brown sugar and sugar beet syrup.

Notes

Be sure to eat this dessert quickly, because it will lose its form after a certain amount of time. For those who find this dish a bit dull, you can always add a bit of syrup to the water, or replace the water with fruit juice. If you're feeling particularly artistic, try adding edible flowers or small berries to the molds!
