Truffle Butter: Gourmet for at Home
It seems that the past decade has been filled with truffle pastas and truffle butters have certainly earned their dues in the culinary world as well. While truffle dishes may be special occasion eating, today we are suggesting translating it into a homemade dish. Our truffle butter is easy to make and sure to add a little bit of luxury wherever it goes. With over 12 servings, this is a recipe that not only will leave you coming back for more, but has plenty to offer too.
To make our truffle butter, you will of course need both truffle and butter. Our recipe calls for two full sticks of butter, which will provide for a lot of truffle butter. When starting this recipe, keep in mind that you will have quite a bit of butter afterwards! In order for the flavors to truly infuse, you’ll want the butter to be porous and room texture. Use a hand mixer or simple spatula to make your room temperature butter even more creamy, and then add in the truffle shavings and other flavors. While freshly grated truffle will be especially potent, a truffle paste will also work here. Once ready, season lightly with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper. Though do tread lighlty, you don’t want to overwhelm the signature truffle flavor of this butter. Alternatively, you can go for truffle salt to really go crazy, but do make sure that you don’t go overboard!
Once ready and infused, form the butter into a log and refrigerate it until stiff again. Once ready, the world is really your oyster and your truffle. This butter is fantastic on pastas and steaks, of course. But, using it on your Sunday toast, scrambled eggs, or even to doll up your mashed potatoes.
