Our Recipe for Cilantro-Chili Butter: Let’s Keep it Fresh & Spicy
What is not to love about herb butter? It brings out all the best of creamy and tangy butter and aromatic and tantalizing herbs. It’s a small touch with big effect! Whether simply on crispy toast as a midnight snack, with grilled vegetables, or as a spread at brunch: Long live herb butter!
One herb that I really like besides fresh basil and rosemary is cilantro-chili butter. Of course, cilantro is divisive. But, nevertheless, we are convinced that cilantro should be used in more recipes. In defense of cilantro and in honor of all the cilantro lovers out there, we’ve crafted an herb butter that perfectly showcases the (in)famous herb in all its glory!
As the name of the cilantro-chili butter suggests, the greens get some company. Chili provides a spicy kick, while some lime juice adds a twist of freshness and even just a tiny tinge of pleasing bitterness. A little garlic will add to the aromatic and flavor-rich spread. But, by all means, omit the garlic if you’re more averse to it. Now, making the butter is easy-peasy. Make sure to chop everything finely and stir into the room-temperature butter. Let it chill and then let it shine when mealtime rolls around.
Our cilantro-chili butter tastes great with grilled chicken and fish. But vegetables will also shine with this unique butter! Our secret tip: Spread the butter on tortillas or use it as a finish for your taco filling to add a rich and flavorful twist.
It’s all in the details, which is why sauces and spreads should not be an after-thought at your table! Our lib el kousa (zucchini and garlic dip), ricotta dip with roasted strawberries, and red lentil dip will breathe life even into the dullest meals.
