Warm Cake for Breakfast: These Lava Cake Baked Oats Will Win You Over
The myth that warm cake for breakfast will upset your stomach persists, but we are here to set the record straight: It IS possible to indulge for breakfast. If anything our lava cake baked oats are a bold morning meditation on the importance of staying in the moment. With a molten chocolate center that oozes out as you dig in, it’s an experience that invites you to truly stay in the moment and to enjoy your meals immediately and fully.
But this chocolatey baked oat recipe isn’t just for indulgence, rest assured they will have you feeling that you have started your day off right. Hearty oats and banana will leave you feeling full and nourished. Not to mention, preparing these treats couldn’t be any easier. You may even already have all the ingredients in your pantry, so whip up these heavenly breakfast cakes ASAP!
To do so, grab a ripe banana and, using a fork, mash it well. Add the remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly until you have a smooth batter. A tip: If you don’t have cocoa powder on hand, you can also use any standard hot chocolate mix. Just keep in mind that in this case you may want to cut back on the sugar in the recipe, as cocoa mixes tend to already be plenty sweetened up.
Once your batter is ready, fill four small ramekins ⅔ full with the batter. Press two pieces of chocolate gently into each one. We personally prefer dark chocolate to create a bold lava, but we’ll leave the choice up to you. Cover each mold with the remaining batter and bake your lava cake baked oats in a preheated oven. Enjoy!
