White Frosting Recipe:

  • 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 1¼ cups powdered sugar
  • 4 oz cream cheese

Beat the soft butter until frothy, stir in the powdered sugar, and then the cream cheese.

Note: Some of these decorating ideas call for different colored frosting. You can just add a few drops of food coloring to the white frosting to make some.

Chocolate Frosting Recipe:

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 bags of dark chocolate chips

Melt the chocolate in the hot heavy cream. Whisk until the chocolate has completely melted and there are no small pieces left. It should have a creamy consistency. Set the chocolate frosting aside overnight but don’t refrigerate it, otherwise it’ll be too firm and not as spreadable.

1. Berry Cake

You’ll Need:

  • white frosting
  • raspberries
  • blueberries
  • blackberries
  • sliced almonds
  • fresh mint leaves

Here’s How:

Arrange the berries, sliced almonds, and mint leaves on the cake so that they look like flowers. You can accentuate the floral cake decoration even more by placing sliced almonds around the edge of the cake.

2. Lamb Cake

You’ll Need:

  • white frosting
  • marshmallows
  • colored sugar
  • red candy
  • chocolate frosting

Here’s How:

2.1 Cut a marshmallow in half, press one side of each half into the colored sugar, and place each half on either side of the white frosting-coated cake.

2.2 Now place more marshmallows on the cake as shown in the video.

2.3 Use a little bit of chocolate frosting to draw the eyes and mouth of the lamb and make a nose out of a piece of red candy. And there you have your little lamb in the form of a cake.

3. Pocky Cake

You’ll Need:

  • chocolate frosting
  • milk chocolate pocky sticks
  • white pocky sticks
  • strawberries

Here’s How:

Coat the cake with the chocolate frosting and carefully press the light and dark pocky sticks on the outer rim of the cake. Then decorate the top of the cake with strawberries.

4. Golf Cake

You’ll Need:

  • white frosting
  • green frosting
  • sealable plastic bag and toothpick
  • Oreo cookie
  • golf ball and tee

Here’s How:

4.1 Use a spoon to carefully carve a hole into the cake.

4.2 Separate the cookies from the cream in the Oreo cookie and crumble them over the hole in the cake.

4.3 Use a toothpick to prick small holes into the corners of a sealable plastic bag, spoon in the green frosting, and pipe it on top of the white frosting. Finish decorating the cake with a golf ball and miniature tee.

5. Number Cake

You’ll Need:

  • white frosting
  • rainbow sprinkles
  • cutout number

Here’s How:

Cut a number out of paper and place it on top of a cake covered with white frosting. Spread the rainbow sprinkles all over the top of the cake and then carefully remove the cutout number. If necessary, gently brush the sprinkles off the number beforehand.

6. Smiley Cake

You’ll Need:

  • white frosting
  • smiley face print-out
  • wax paper
  • piping bag
  • frosting in different colors
  • chocolate frosting

Here’s How:

6.1 Cover the smiley face print-out with wax paper.

6.2 Put a springform pan in the middle of the covered smiley face and trace the outline with a pencil.
