3 Fun Recipes With French Fries

If we had to pick one food we could never give up, it would have to be French fries. Whether you like curly fries, steak fries, waffle fries, or shoestrings, there's a cut out there for everyone. We love fries so much that we've come up with even more ways to enjoy everyone's favorite side dish. In fact, these 3 fun recipes are about to make French fries the main course instead of pushing them to the side. A French fry waffle burger, cheesy stuffed French fries, and French fry egg cups – just pick your favorite and dig right in. Now every day can be fry day, and we're not mad about that!

1. French Fry Waffle Burger

Yield: 1
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Difficulty Level: Easy

Ingredients:

  • 16 oz frozen French fries, thawed
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ketchup & mayonnaise
  • 2 square hamburger patties
  • lettuce, onion, tomato, & jalapeño

Instructions:

Grease and preheat a waffle iron. Place half of the thawed French fries on the waffle iron, top with half of the cheddar cheese, gently press the waffle iron lid down, and cook until the fries are crispy. Repeat with the rest of the fries and cheddar cheese to create a second French fry waffle. Place one of the French fry waffles back on the waffle iron, squeeze ketchup and mustard over it, and top with a square hamburger patty, lettuce, onion, tomato, jalapeño, and a second hamburger patty. Transfer the burger to a plate and place the second French fry waffle on top of the French fry waffle burger.

2. Cheesy Stuffed French Fries

Yield: 2 servings
Prep Time: 30 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Difficulty Level: Easy

Ingredients:

  • 16 oz frozen French fries, thawed
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp potato starch
  • cheddar cheese sticks, halved

Instructions:

Crush the thawed French fries with your hands and combine with the egg and potato starch to form a smooth mixture. Form several oblong shapes from the French fry mixture, each about the size of a regular-cut French fry, place a halved cheddar cheese stick in the center of each oblong shape, and seal the mixture around the cheese. Freeze the cheesy stuffed French fries for 1 hour and then fry in hot cooking oil until crispy and golden brown.

3. French Fry Egg Cups

Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Difficulty Level: Easy

Ingredients:

  • 16 oz frozen French fries, thawed
  • 6 eggs
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 oz bacon bits

Instructions:

Line the molds of a 6-cup muffin pan with the thawed French fries. Sprinkle cheddar cheese over each mold and  then crack an egg into each mold. Transfer the muffin pan to a preheated oven and cook at 350°F for 30 minutes. Garnish the French fry egg cups with bacon bits before serving.
