Fast Finger Food: 4 Recipes for Easy-To-Make Toast Rings

Everybody loves a good sandwich, but it's not really a food conducive to sharing. Say you're headed to a picnic, BBQ, or tailgate party, and you want to bring a great snack or appetizer that is fast and easy to make, will feed plenty of people, and of course, has that "wow" factor. Say no more, because all you need to make these tasty treats are slices of sandwich bread and various yummy ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry or fridge. These toast rings are the best thing since sliced bread!

You'll need:

  • 13-15 slices of sandwich bread

For Recipe #1 — BBQ Chicken Toast Ring

  • 18 oz chicken breast
  • 5 fl oz barbecue sauce
  • 5½ oz shredded cheddar cheese

For Recipe #2 — Hawaiian Toast Ring

  • 10½ oz ham slices
  • 2 cans pineapple slices
  • 9 oz Muenster or Gouda cheese

For Recipe #3 — Plum Jam Toast Ring

  • 3¼ fl oz milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 5⅓ oz plum jelly

For Recipe #4 — Bacon Brie Toast Ring

  • 7 oz bacon
  • 10½ oz brie, sliced
  • 2 pears, sliced

Here's how:

For each recipe, place a large heat-resistant plate on a sheet of aluminum foil that will be large enough to wrap over the plate. Arrange the slices of sandwich bread in a circle on the plate so that the slices overlap.

1. BBQ Chicken Toast Ring

Cook the chicken breasts and shred the meat as soon as it has cooled down. Mix the shredded chicken with the barbecue sauce, and spoon the mixture between the slices of bread. Sprinkle the ring with shredded cheddar cheese.

2.  Hawaiian Toast Ring

Stack a slice of ham, pineapple, and cheese between each slice of bread.

3. Plum Jam Toast Ring

Beat the eggs, milk, sugar, and cinnamon together. Pour the mixture over the bread slices and add the plum jelly.

4. Bacon Brie Toast Ring

Layer a bacon strip, two pear slices, and a piece of brie between each slice of bread.

Finally, wrap the entire plate loosely in aluminum foil and bake the dish at 360°F for 18 minutes.

Nobody can deny that these four party food recipes are fast and simple. Of course, all four recipes can also be prepared with any other type of bread, so feel free to get creative.
