Steak Dinner Sandwich

There are no boundaries when it comes to sandwich creativity, and to demonstrate this point, we've come up with a way to turn your beloved steak dinner into a sandwich. That's right, instead of wasting time on tasty fillings sandwiched between 2 bland slices of bread, we're slapping your favorite Sunday dinner ingredients between 2 juicy pieces of our take on chicken fried steak!

You'll Need:

For the chicken fried steak:

  • 8-12 oz steak, cut in half lengthwise
  • 8 oz rye bread + 1 tbsp thyme + 1 tbsp rosemary + 1 tbsp garlic powder + salt to taste
  • whisked eggs
  • flour

For the sandwich toppings:

  • cheese slices
  • lettuce
  • grilled zucchini slice
  • grilled tomato slices
  • grilled red onion slices
  • grilled potato slices
  • BBQ sauce

Here's How:

1. Dry the rye bread in a preheated oven set to 200°F for 45 minutes. Once the bread has cooled, crush it in a blender or mixer until you have bread crumbs. Add the thyme, rosemary, and garlic powder, and season with salt to taste.

2. Dredge the 2 steaks in flour, egg, and the seasoned rye bread crumbs.

3. Heat some oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the breaded steaks for about 5 minutes on both sides.

4. Grill the zucchini, tomato, red onion, and potato slices on both sides.

5. Place 1 of the fried steaks on a plate, top with cheese, lettuce, the grilled veggies, and BBQ sauce, and place the other fried steak on top. Use 2 skewers to secure the sandwich if needed.

Meat lovers will be chomping at the bit to get their hands on this sandwich! Never before in the history of sandwiches has there been a version that manages to faithfully imitate all the best parts of your classic steak dinner and turn it into something like this. If you want to spice up your sandwich game, this one's a must-try!
