When you start sweating bullets outside, it might be time to take a walk to the ice cream parlor around the corner - or to your freezer to whip up an ice cream dish right at home. So, what's an easy-to-make recipe that doesn't require many ingredients? How about spaghetti ice cream! Never heard of it? Then prepare to be wowed by this delicious treat that's absolutely perfect for the summer.

Here's what you'll need:

  • 4 scoops of vanilla ice cream
  • 4 ounces of strawberries
  • 1/3 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • white chocolate

Here is what you do:

First, boil down the strawberries, sugar and water in a pot.

The mixture then needs to be puréed and placed into the refrigerator. Otherwise it will melt your ice cream!

Now put the vanilla ice cream through a potato ricer, allowing it to fall onto the plate. For this step it might be good to let the ice cream soften up so that you don't have to push it through so hard. You can always put it back into the freezer for a minute if you prefer your ice cream a little firmer.

Now pour the sauce on the vanilla ice cream.

Grate a few flakes of Parmesan, ehm, white chocolate on top of the ice cream.

The spaghetti ice cream dish is done. Buon appetito!

You can complement your spaghetti ice cream with some delicious whipped cream. The traditional way to prepare the dish is by putting the whipped cream on the plate first, then the ice cream on top and then the strawberry sauce. If you want to have a bit of fun, you can make dollhouse-size portions for children by putting the ice cream through a garlic crusher. But make sure to clean it thoroughly beforehand!
