Cheesy BBQ Pulled Pork Pull-Apart Bread

Pulled pork and BBQ sauce has to be one of the best combinations of all time! But despite being such a crowd-pleasing favorite, pulled pork usually tends to stick to its comfort zone, casually hanging out between two buns with a little bit of coleslaw on the side. Well, we think it's high time that pulled pork broke out of its shell and started sharing its juicy, tangy personality with other food formats! In this recipe, we've introduced pulled pork to pull-apart bread, and with their forces combined, this dish is definitely the baked cheesy, cool new appetizer on the block!

Yield: 46 servings
Prep Time: 25 minutes
Cooking Time: 45 minutes
Difficulty Level: Easy

You'll Need:

For the dough:

  • 2¾ cups flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 cups Greek yogurt

For the BBQ pulled pork filling:

  • 12 oz pulled pork
  • ½ yellow bell pepper, chopped
  • ½ red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1¼ cup BBQ sauce
  • ¼ cup chopped chives
  • 1¾ cup shredded mozzarella

Extra:

  • chives
  • BBQ sauce
  • loaf pan

Here's How:

1. For the dough, combine the flour and baking powder, then stir in the Greek yogurt. Knead the mixture by hand until a smooth dough forms, cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rest in a warm place for 20 minutes.

2. While the dough is resting, combine the pulled pork, chopped bell peppers, shredded cheddar cheese, BBQ sauce, and chives. Once the dough is ready, preheat the oven to 325°F and grease a loaf pan. Roll the dough out into a rectangle that is approximately 18 x 12 inches. Cut the dough into 18 equally-sized pieces, spoon the BBQ pulled pork filling onto each section, and sprinkle 1 cup of the shredded mozzarella over the individual sections of dough.

3. Position the greased loaf pan vertically and stack the covered pieces of dough inside.

4. Flip the loaf pan over to its normal horizontal position and sprinkle the remainder of the mozzarella on top. Transfer the loaf pan to the oven and bake at 325°F for 45 minutes until golden brown. Carefully remove the pulled pork pull-apart bread from the loaf pan and sprinkle chopped chives on top.

This pull-apart bread has it all thanks to its sweet and smoky BBQ flavor, tender pulled pork, ooey gooey melted cheese, and soft freshly-baked bread. Did pulled pork somehow just level up?!
