Equipment

  • Springform pan

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs potatoes
  • 1 apple
  • 5 baby dill pickles
  • 1 red onion
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • pickle slices for topping
  • fresh parsley leaves for topping
  • 1 apple rose for topping
  • 7 hot dogs for border

Instructions

  • For the potato salad, peel the potatoes and boil them in lightly salted water. Dice the boiled potatoes, apple, baby dill pickles, and red onion and mix them together with the cream cheese, mayonnaise, salt, and pepper.
  • Remove the base from a springform pan and place the ring on a plate. Spoon the potato salad into the springform ring, smooth out the top, and arrange pickle slices in a spiral pattern on top. Refrigerate the plate for 2 hours and then remove the springform ring.
  • Place the parsley leaves on top of the potato salad cake. Arrange thin apple slices in the shape of a rose and place the apple rose in the middle of the parsley leaves.
  • Cut the cooked hot dogs in half horizontally, and then cut those pieces in half lengthwise. Arrange the quartered hot dogs around the potato salad cake as a border.
