Stack it high: Pizza cake

If you absolutely had to decide between pizza or cake, which would you choose? It’s almost like being asked to choose between an arm and a leg: both are essential! With this recipe, you can combine two ideas, creating a whole new spin on the pizza "slice."

You will need:

  • pizza dough
  • a bit of flour
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 4 cups grated cheese
  • 7 oz salami or pepperoni

Here's how:

  1. Spread out the pizza dough and with the help of a small springform pan, cut out three circular portions. Bake for 10 minutes at 355 °F.
  2. Form a ball with the remaining dough and then, on a surface sprinkled with flour, roll it so that it is longer than it is wide. Press it onto the sides of the small springform pan, so that it is completely lined.
  3. Now it's time to stack: press one of the baked portions of dough onto the bottom of the pan. Add tomato sauce, some cheese, and salami before placing another portion of dough on top. Repeat this process to create two more layers.
  4. As a finishing touch, roll the edges of your dough lining inwards, so that your cake has a nicer shape. Now bake your work of art for 40 minutes for 355°F.

You can't always have everything at once, but it certainly is nice every once in a while. Feel free to add other ingredients, like veggies or ham — everything that's tasty is allowed! Enjoy!
