Oreo Brick Cake With Oreo Cream Frosting And White Chocolate

Everybody loves Oreos, and we're no exception, which is why we wanted to use them in a very special way and make a chocolatey Oreo cake! Not only is this cake delicious and oh-so full of Oreos, but it looks pretty amazing once you cut into it, thanks to an ingenious cake-cutting method. Intrigued? Read the recipe and try it out!

You'll Need:

For the chocolate cake:

  • 50 Oreos (1½ 14-oz packages)
  • 2½ sticks butter, melted
  • 5 cups flour
  • 6 eggs
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • 1¾ cups cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup baking powder
  • 1 qt heavy cream

For the Oreo cream frosting:

  • filling from the Oreos
  • 33 oz white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Extra:

  • 2 springform pans (9-inch diameter)
  • 2 bowls for the 3-ring cake (2-inch and 5-inch diameter)
  • 3 bowls for the 4-ring cake (3 inch, 5-inch, and 7-inch diameter)
  • whipped cream for decoration

Here's How:

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Separate the filling from the Oreo cookies and crush the cookies.

2. Mix the cookie crumbs with the other chocolate cake ingredients, divide the batter between two springform pans, transfer both pans to the oven, and bake for 45 minutes. Once the cakes have cooled completely, cut the top to be level and set aside the discarded cake for later. Once level, cut each cake into two layers.

3. To make the frosting, heat up the heavy cream and melt in the white chocolate. Stir everything together for about 2 minutes to make sure the chocolate has melted completely before adding the Oreo filling. Mix everything together and set aside to cool.

4. Cut two of the cake layers into 3 rings using two different sized bowls. Cut the other two cakes into 4 rings with the size-specific bowls. If you don't have bowls that fit the specified dimensions, any similar-sized circular object will also work.

5. Briefly whip the frosting once more before spreading it over the cooled cake.

6. Lay the outer ring of the 3-ring cake on a plate and spread frosting along the inner ring.

7. Lay the second-smallest ring of the cake in the larger ring, spread frosting on the inside, and fill with the smallest piece of the cake.

8. Spread frosting on top of the reassembled layer.

9. Now repeat Steps #6 and #7 with one of the 4-ring cakes on top of the reassembled layer.

10. Repeat Step #8.

11. Repeat Steps #6-9 with the remaining cakes, then spread frosting over the completed cake.

12. Take the discarded cake from Step #2 and crumble it over the top of the cake. Garnish with whipped cream dollops and more Oreos, and my-O-my, are you in for a surprise!
