Italians are renowned for their delicious cuisine world-wide. In addition to pizza and pasta, lasagna is one of the staple dishes in the Mediterranean cuisine. But preparing an authentic lasagna is quite a bit of work. If you don't have three hours to cook it, this recipe will be of use to you, because you only really need a single pan for it. No pots, no baking dish, really just one pan!

You'll need the following ingredients:

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 3 cups of tomato sauce
  • 6-7 lasagna sheets
  • 8 oz. ricotta
  • 8 oz. grated mozzarella
  • 7-10 cherry tomatoes
  • Fresh basil leaves

Here's what you do:

Before you start cooking, the handles of the pan need to be unscrewed and removed. Otherwise, the plastic will melt in the oven. If you have a pan with metal handles, then that'll work great. Now the cooking can begin!

Add olive oil into the pan and fry up the ground beef in it.

Season the meat with salt, pepper, onion and garlic.

Pour half of the tomato sauce into the meat and mix the ingredients together.

Now slide 2-3 lasagna sheets under the meat. Don't keep stirring, the sheets are supposed to stay where they are!

Using the remaining lasagna sheets, form a new layer on top of the sauce.

Spread the remaining 1 1/2 cups of tomato sauce onto the lasagna sheets and add the ricotta on top of the sauce.

Gently dollop the ricotta over the top. Be careful as it is thicker than the sauce. Sprinkle the mozzarella over that and place some halved cherry tomatoes around the top.

Place the pan in the oven for 25 minutes at 360°F. Garnish the lasagna with a few leaves of fresh basil. Oh yeah, mmmm!
