Halloween: A different take on pigs in blankets for mummified finger food
Halloween is just around the corner, so you'll need to serve up some appropriately themed snacks at your party. For this recipe, we've taken an old favorite and given it a spooky twist...
- hot dog wieners
- puff pastry
- egg wash
- ketchup and mayonnaise
- Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into thin strips. You'll need one strip for each hot dog wiener you want to mummify.
- Wrap each hot dog wiener with a strip of pastry. It's probably easier to skewer the hot dog wieners first.
- Place the mummified hot dogs on a baking tray, brush on some egg wash, and bake them at 360°F for 15 minutes. Add a set of eyes on each mummy hot dog using mayonnaise and ketchup before serving.
