A new twist on an old classic: Meaty Barbecue Rolls

Summertime is BBQ time, no question, but if you're looking for something different than the usual steak and hot dogs, why not give these Meaty Barbecue Rolls a try? No messing around trying to cram everything in your burger bun, this pre-prepared hamburger in half a bun has got you covered.

You'll need (for 4 portions):

  • 2 bread rolls
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 tbsp parsley
  • salt and pepper
  • barbecue sauce
  • 3.5 oz grated cheese

Here's how:

  1. Mix the ground beef with the onion and parsley and add the salt and pepper.
  2. Cut the bread rolls in half and divide the seasoned beef and onion between all four pieces. Next, place them meat side down on the barbecue.
  3. After you've turned the rolls over, spread barbecue sauce over the beef, sprinkle cheese on top, and then grill for another 10 minutes or so, until the cheese has melted.

And there you have it, a fun variation on the traditional hamburger that offers yet another culinary option for your guests to enjoy at an weekend barbecue!
