Fruity Caramelized Mango Flan

A smooth dessert is the perfect ending to any meal, but if you're looking to impress, then a fancy flan is definitely the way to go. Our fruity flan with caramelized mango will put cake, pudding, ice cream, and every other kind of sweet treat to shame!

You'll Need:

For the liquid caramel:

  • 6 oz sugar
  • 4 tbsp water
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup

For the flan:

  • 10 oz mango chunks
  • 6 oz cream cheese
  • 5 eggs
  • 12 fl oz evaporated milk
  • 10 fl oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the mango topping:

  • 4 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 10 oz mango chunks
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Here's How:

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare the liquid caramel. Boil the sugar, water, and maple syrup until golden brown, pour the liquid into a 9-inch tart pan, and let cool.

2. Add the flan ingredients to a blender and puree until smooth. Pour the mixture over the cooled liquid caramel in the tart pan.

3. Cover the tart pan with aluminum foil, place the pan in a deep baking pan, and fill up the pan halfway with hot water. Bake the flan for 45 minutes and let it cool, preferably overnight, before proceeding.

4. Once the flan has cooled, prepare the mango topping. Melt the brown sugar in a pan over medium heat. Then add the butter and let that melt as well. Finally, add the mango chunks and cinnamon and mix everything together.

5. Flip the flan over onto a serving plate and garnish with the mango topping.

This caramelized mango flan tops almost all the other desserts out there, maybe even the chocolate ones too! Don't believe us? See for yourself!
