Homemade Chocolate Candy — Chocolate Cherry Cordials & Chocolate Hazelnut Bites

Everyone knows chocolate sweets are hard to resist, and if they're homemade, so much the better! We've combined the best ingredients and coated them in creamy chocolate to give sweet tooths a real sweet treat.

1. Chocolate Cherry Cordials

You'll Need:

  • 14 oz bittersweet chocolate
  • 1 small jar of sour cherries
  • 5 fl oz vodka
  • 1 sheet of gelatin
  • ice cube tray

Here's How:

1.1 Cut the chocolate and melt it in a water bath. Pour the cherry juice into a pot and soak the cherries in vodka. Also soak the gelatin.

1.2 Pour the melted and slightly cooled chocolate into an ice cube tray. Turn the mold upside down and drain the excess chocolate. Repeat this process to make the chocolate shells a bit thicker and then let the chocolate cool. Set aside some of the drained chocolate for later.

1.3 Heat 4 tbsp cherry juice and 2 tbsp vodka in a pot over low heat and dissolve the gelatin in it.

1.4 Allow the mixture to cool a little and then fill each compartment in the ice cube tray about half full.

1.5 Place a cherry in each compartment.

1.6 Pour the remaining melted chocolate over the ice cube tray and smooth it out. Let everything cool and then gently push the chocolates out of the mold.

2. Chocolate Hazelnut Bites

You'll Need:

  • 3 oz milk chocolate
  • 3 oz white chocolate
  • 1 tbsp coffee creamer
  • 1 tbsp chopped hazelnuts

Here's How:

2.1 Chop the white chocolate and melt it over a warm water bath. Chop the hazelnuts and roast them in a pan. Add the coffee creamer to the melted chocolate, stir until smooth, and then add the roasted hazelnuts. Add some more coffee creamer if the mixture isn't thick enough. Let everything cool for about 30 minutes.

2.2 Form small balls from the white chocolate mixture.

2.3 Chop the milk chocolate and let it melt over a hot water bath. Dip the small white balls into the melted milk chocolate so that they are completely coated.

2.4 Lay the chocolate hazelnut bites on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper and let them dry for about 1 hour.

These homemade chocolates also make a great personalized gift – have fun handing them out!
