Today we’re grilling! And the star of the grill is our delicious cauliflower steak recipe. It makes for a great alternative to meat and proves that vegetables are more than capable of making a successful BBQ. Here’s how to make grilled cauliflower steaks.
A New Approach To an Old Favorite: Our Grilled Cauliflower Steaks
Vegetables are the new meat. This motto also applies to our grilled cauliflower steaks. They’re so easy that there are no more excuses why vegetables shouldn’t end up on the grill more often. We’ll show you how it’s done.
If you thought we were just going to slice a cauliflower and throw it on the grill, you’re woefully mistaken. Of course, the cauliflower steaks get a spicy marinade before cooking to ensure that you are only having the choicest of bites this.
The marinade consists of olive oil, salt, pepper, a little pinch of sugar, red pepper flakes, and sweet paprika. It’s a sure fire way to brighten up the veg. Plus, making it couldn’t be any easier. Simply mix all the ingredients together and then generously brush the cauliflower slices on both sides with a brush. Let the marinade soak in for about 30 minutes so that the flavors can really settle in.
To cook, place the cauliflower on the grill grate or in an aluminum foil pan and grill for 4 to 5 minutes per side. They should be nice and crispy and golden brown on the outside and tender on the inside. Does it ge any better?
Once ready, serve them drizzled with a little lemon juice and a dip. A Greek whipped feta dip, tirokafteri, goes particularly well with these beauties. You can enjoy the cauliflower steaks as a meal on their own, or also serve them as a side dish. Either way, we know you’ll love them!
