Giant Reese's Peanut Butter Cup

You've probably had more than a few Reese's peanut butter cups in your lifetime, and most people would agree that the combination of milk chocolate and creamy peanut butter yields a flavor that is greater than the sum of its parts. Well, what if you could also super-size it? Using only 6 ingredients, you can now make a massive Reese's peanut butter cup at home – something you can't get in the store!

Yield: 1
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Difficulty Level: Moderate

You'll Need:

For the chocolate crust:

  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips, melted

For the peanut butter cream:

  • 3 cups creamy peanut butter
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2¼ sticks butter, softened

For the peanut butter crumb layer:

  • 1 sponge cake, crumbled
  • ½ cup peanut butter cream

For the chocolate topping:

  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips, melted
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil, melted

Here's How:

1. For the chocolate crust, melt the chocolate chips over a water bath. Grease a large fluted tart pan, pour half of the melted chocolate into the pan, and spread it out over the bottom and sides of the pan. Let the chocolate set for 30 minutes and then repeat with the rest of the melted chocolate.

2. For the peanut butter cream, combine the peanut butter, powdered sugar, and softened butter and mix until smooth.

3. For the peanut butter crumb layer, crumble the sponge cake and gently combine the crumbs with ½ cup of the peanut butter cream. Spoon the mixture into the tart pan and gently spread it out in an even layer over the chocolate crust.

4. Spread the peanut butter cream over the peanut butter crumb layer.

5. For the chocolate topping, melt the milk chocolate chips and coconut oil over a water bath. Pour the melted chocolate over the peanut butter cream until the top is completely coated and let the chocolate set at room temperature for 30 minutes.

6. Carefully remove the giant peanut butter cup from the tart part and slice with a warm knife before serving.

This huge Reese's peanut butter cup is perfect for special occasions with a large group of people, but you can also enjoy it all by yourself, because after all, there's no wrong way to eat a Reese's!
