Fried Chicken Donuts: So Much Better Than A Cronut

Who says donuts have to be sweet? Not us! We love the round treat so much that we're taking it to new levels with crispy fried chicken, creamy potatoes, ooey gooey cheese, and spicy jalapeños. Time to make the donuts!

You'll need:

  • 7 oz cooked potatoes
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 4½ oz flour
  • 5½ oz bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1½ tbsp jalapeños, chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • garlic and ginger, grated
  • 14 oz block cheese
  • panko

For the dipping sauce:

  • 5½ oz mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp chives
  • 3 oz sour cream
  • 1 tsp dill
  • ½ tsp Worcester sauce
  • 1 garlic clove, grated
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Here's how:

1. Boil the potatoes and mash them until smooth. Add the ground chicken, flour, bread crumbs, eggs, baking powder, jalapeños, cumin, salt, pepper, ginger, and garlic, and mix everything together with your hands.

2. Cut a ¼ to ½ inch-thick slice from a block of cheese (about the width of your finger). Use a glass or small bowl to cut out a circle and then use a shot glass to punch out a hole in the middle. Repeat this process three more times for a total of four cheese rings.

3. Flatten some of the meat mixture in your hand, put the cheese ring on top, and fold the meat around the cheese. Add more meat on top until the cheese ring is completely enveloped. Dredge the chicken donuts in panko and fry them in a pan with hot oil.

4. Prepare the dipping sauce using the above ingredients.

Wowza! Isn't your watering just looking at these beauties? Go ahead and treat yourself to this super fast meal that's perfect for a relaxed evening.
