2 Crazy Spaghetti Recipes: Spaghetti Meatball Cone And Spaghetti Loaf

Ideally, everyone should have an Italian nonna to make them spaghetti and meatballs whenever the mood strikes. Alas, we don't all have that luxury, so we have to figure out a way to make everyone's favorite comfort food all by ourselves. But you know what? It's not as hard as it seems. All you need to do is stick to these recipes and experience this Italian American classic in two totally new ways!

1. Spaghetti & Meatball Cone

You'll Need:

For the spaghetti cone:

  • 5 oz spaghetti noodles
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp grated parmesan
  • waffle cone

For the meatball:

  • 5 oz ground beef
  • diced onion
  • minced garlic
  • basil
  • parsley
  • white bread
  • cheese cube
  • crushed tomatoes
  • salt, pepper & oregano to taste

Here's How:

1.1 Preheat the oven to 300°F. Cook the spaghetti in salted water according to package instructions, drain off the water, and crack an egg over the lukewarm noodles. Add grated parmesan and mix well.

1.2 Line a round 6-inch pan with parchment paper, spread the noodles over it, and cook for 10 minutes. Let the spaghetti cool down afterwards.

1.3 Wrap a waffle cone with parchment paper and grease the paper.

1.4 Now wrap the cone with the spaghetti on the round pan (including the parchment paper) and bake again at 400°F for 20 minutes. Let the spaghetti cool afterwards.

1.5 In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, onions, garlic, salt, pepper, herbs, and torn up, stale white bread. Form a ball out of the mixture and press a cheese cube into the middle. Seal the cheese with more of the beef mixture so that the ball retains its nice and round shape. Fry the ball in a hot skillet. Add the crushed tomatoes to the skillet and season with oregano, salt, and pepper. Let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes.

1.6 Spoon the tomato sauce from the skillet into the spaghetti cone. Put the meatball on top and sprinkle with grated parmesan.
