Recipe for Pasta Carbonara Bake: A Noodle Classic from the Oven
Casseroles are a great thing when you don’t feel like cooking after a long day at work or a weekend trip. They don’t take much work and are mostly baked in the oven. While the dish is in the oven, you have time to recover from the day’s events and look forward to dinner. Plus, there’s that tempting smell coming from the kitchen that whets your appetite.
Our pasta carbonara bake fulfills all of these characteristics. We’ve taken typical ingredients of a classic Italian carbonara, added a few more ingredients, and created a delicious pasta bake that the whole family will love.
For the pasta carbonara bake, in addition to short noodles like penne or macaroni, we need diced bacon, eggs, Parmesan cheese, heavy cream, milk, salt, and pepper. We start by cooking the noodles in salted water. However, we reduce the cooking time stated on the package by a few minutes, because the pasta will continue to cook in the oven later. While it’s on the stove, we dice the onion and bacon and fry both. We also mix milk, heavy cream, eggs, and grated Parmesan cheese for the sauce and season it with salt and pepper.
