Caramel Waffle Cake
Ingredients
- 12 large waffle cones
- 14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk, caramelized (for the dulce de leche)
- 14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk
- 2/3 cup cream cheese
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup whipped cream
- 1 chocolate bar, melted
- crushed nuts to garnish
Instructions
- For the dulce de leche, place a can of sweetened condensed milk in a large pot of boiling water for 2-3 hours. While the caramelized mixture cools down, steam the waffle cones over a water bath.
- Carefully unroll the softened waffle cones and flatten them. Combine the cooled dulce de leche from the can with the regular sweetened condensed milk, spread some of the mixture over the first flattened waffle cone, and top with another flattened waffle cone.
- Combine the cream cheese and sugar and fold in the whipped cream. Spread some of this mixture over the flattened waffle cone and top with another flattened waffle cone.
- Continue layering the caramel mixture, flattened waffle cones, and the whipped cream mixture until the last flattened waffle cone is on top. Pour the melted chocolate on top of the caramel waffle cake and smooth it out.
- Spread the remaining caramel mixture over the sides of the caramel waffle cake and press crushed nuts into it. Refrigerate the cake for 30 minutes before serving.
