Caramel Apple Sangria – A Summer Beverage Dressed For Winter

When pondering sangria, our minds might travel back to a hot summer day at an outdoor cafe, watching as a fruit-filled glass pitcher perspires under the heat of the sun. While summer vacation may be a few months away, you can still enjoy sangria, this time with a special seasonal twist!

You'll Need:

  • 2 red apples
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 1/2 cups cider
  • 2 1/2 cups white wine

Here's How:

  1. Wash and core the apples and cut into cubes.
  2. Heat the sugar in a pot until it caramelizes. Careful that it does not start to burn!
  3. Add the water to the pot and bring to a boil. Turn down the heat and let cool.
  4. Place the apples into the bottom of a pitcher. Pour in the sugary syrup followed by the cider and white wine. Mix well and refrigerate before serving.

No need to wait until summer to enjoy the fruity flavors of sangria! This sweet beverage will be the highlight of any holiday party. Cheers!
