Sweet & Smoky Bacon Jam

Bacon tastes great any time of the day – bacon and eggs for breakfast, a BLT sandwich for lunch, a bacon cheeseburger for dinner, and some bacon strips and bacon bits in between for good measure. No matter when or how you eat it, you just can't beat a good slice of bacon. But if you still can't get enough of it, this recipe will give you the chance to spread bacon on anything and everything so that you can finally enjoy it at every meal!

You'll Need:

  • 24 oz bacon
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • ¾ cup coffee
  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • ½ cup brown sugar

Here's How:

1. Dice the raw bacon and cook the pieces in a pan over medium heat until nice and crispy. Remove the bacon bits from the pan and set aside for now.

2. Cook the onion and garlic in the bacon grease and then stir in the coffee, apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, and brown sugar. Bring everything to a boil and add the bacon bits. If you prefer a slow cooked version, you can also cook the bacon jam for in an uncovered crock-pot set to high or an oven set to 200°F for 4 hours.

3. Pour the contents of the pan in a blender and puree. Store your bacon jam in a jar so you have a delicious smoky spread whenever the mood strikes. Go ahead and try it out on burgers, waffles, crackers, puff pastry, scrambled eggs, and whatever else you can think of — the sky is the limit!

Spoon some of this sweet & smoky bacon jam into a Mason jar, wrap a pretty ribbon around it, and you have the perfect gift for the ultimate bacon lover! Speaking of bacon lovers, you can find the recipe for the Beef Tenderloin with Homemade Bacon Butter featured in the bonus video here.
