10 Ways To Prepare The Tastiest Vegetable In The World

It is on our busiest days that we are invited to lean on uncomplicated recipes that use just a few fresh ingredients and require even fewer preparation steps. If there are only a few dishes to wash afterward, the dish scores even more points. Just like this feta and tomato bake. Juicy tomatoes, creamy feta, aromatic garlic, and herbs rejoice together to make this oven-baked dish a wonderfully simple, yet incredibly tasty lunch or dinner.

Mediterranean Feta and Tomato Bake

This Mediterranean bake practically makes itself. As the oven preheats, your hands are free to chop the tomatoes, feta, and fresh garlic. Afterwards, mix up a marinade of oil, vinegar, and fresh herbs which will then be poured over the vegetables and cheese. Put the whole thing in the oven and let it bake for 30 minutes. Mmm, just know how divine your kitchen will smell!

Baguette, ciabatta, or a delicious farmhouse bread go wonderfully with this delicacy from the oven. Of course, you can also cook a filling side dish like rice, pasta, or couscous to accompany it. Or, if so desired, add eggs to the baking dish. This will provide you with filling protein while keeping the dish low-carb. Various other vegetables also work well in the casserole: Mediterranean varieties such as zucchini, eggplant, and peppers are right at the top of the list. Not to mention, they’re reminiscent of a delicious ratatouille.

In addition to the vegetables, the feta and tomato bake can also be refined with other spices such as fresh oregano, thyme, and rosemary. Or you can play with the heat by adding paprika powder, allspice, or fresh chilies to the bake. Just tweak it to what you like best and you can’t go wrong!

Even though fresh tomatoes taste best in the feta and tomato bake, you can also make the recipe with chopped or puréed tomatoes. If you can’t find flavorful fresh ones at the store, this is a simple, delicious, and often more budget-friendly alternative.

We could eat warming oven dishes like our feta and tomato bake every day. Nonetheless, variety is the spice of life!
