Recipe for Pear-Almond Smoothie: Creamy and Delicious

Pears are the underrated superstars among fruits. While apples often take the spotlight, pears offer at least as many health benefits. Packed with vitamins C, K, and B, they boost our immune system, and the antioxidants they contain protect our cells from the effects of free radicals. They are also full of fiber, which is not only important for healthy digestion, but also ensures that our pear-almond smoothie will keep you full all morning. The peel is particularly rich in nutrients, so it’s best not to peel it but simply blend it in. Due to their low fruit acid content, they are particularly easy on the stomach and are even suitable for sensitive stomachs.

Pears are widely available and you will most likely have no shortage to choose from. Depending on the variety, pears can taste honey-sweet or have a subtle tartness. Especially nice are ripe and extra juicy pear varieties, these are truly perfect for smoothies.

Want to add even more flavor, creaminess, or nutrients to your smoothie? No problem! Add half a banana for extra creaminess. A pinch of cardamom and/or a piece of fresh ginger will provide a special touch and an extra kick. Of course, you can also use alternatives to yogurt, such as skyr or quark, to transform your pear-almond smoothie to a light protein shake. Need some crunch? Serve the smoothie in a bowl with granola on top.
