When making our cold brew overnight oats, you’ll need to factor in some waiting time. But, rest assured, everything really takes care of itself. Cold brew coffee is the base here, so make sure to start off prep with that. To make your cold brew, pour four cups of water over ¾ cup of coarsely ground coffee. Let the grounds steep in the fridge for at least 12 hours. Afterward, strain it through a coffee filter.
The night before, combine the oats, chia seeds, milk, coffee, and, if you’re craving something sweet, maple syrup or agave nectar. Stir everything together well, then pour into a sealable container and let it sit in the fridge overnight.
A good trail mix or granola topping will add a satisfying crunch to the oats if you so like. You can also sprinkle your some chopped dark chocolate on top of your overnight oat, if you’re looking for a little more glamor and treat in your morning! Enjoy and have an energized start to your day!
