3 Creative Toast Recipes To Make Your Mornings Better

Version 1: Cheese & Ham Toastie

You'll need:

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 2 slices of cheese
  • 1 slice of ham
  • 3 eggs
  • 3½ fl oz milk
  • salt & pepper
  • butter or oil for frying

Here's how:

1.1 Cut away the crusts from the two slices of bread. 

1.2 Cut the ham slice in half. Start by placing a slice of cheese on one of the slices of bread, then add the ham before putting another slice of cheese on top.

Place the second slice of bread on top and press down on the edges.

1.3 Now mix the three eggs with the milk and season. Dip the sandwich into the egg mixture and fry it in a pan with butter or oil.

Version 2: Toasted Egg & Bacon Roll

You'll need:

  • 4 hard-boiled eggs
  • ground pepper
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 4 slices of bread
  • 4 slices of bacon
  • oil for frying

Here's how:

2.1 First, use a fork to mash up the egg in a bowl. Season the eggs with salt and pepper before adding the mayonnaise and carefully mixing everything. 

2.2. Remove the crusts from the slices of bread and roll each one out flat. 

Spoon the egg-mayonnaise mixture onto it and roll everything up. Next, wrap a slice of bacon around the bread roll.

Repeat this process with the three other slices of bread.

2.3 Now heat up some oil in a pan and fry the rolls until they're golden brown.

Version 3: Bacon & Egg Toastie Straight Out The Oven

You'll need:

  • 1 slice of bacon
  • 1 slice of bread
  • 1 oz cream cheese
  • 2 slices of cheese
  • 1 egg
  • pepper
  • some freshly chopped parsley

Here's how:

3.1 First, cut the bacon into small pieces and fry them in a pan until golden brown.

Now place a square slice of cheese on top of the bread. Fill a piping bag with cream cheese and pipe it around the cheese slice on the edge of the bread.

Break the egg in the center and sprinkle the bacon bits onto it. Finish by seasoning with pepper and placing another slice of cheese on the sandwich.

3.2 Place the toastie in an oven set to 350°F for 15 minutes. Sprinkle some parsley on top before serving.
