Pull-Apart Puff Pastry Boats Stuffed With 3 Different Fillings

We love puff pastry, and rightfully so! Puff pastry recipes are usually very simple, but still manage to end up tasting great. Sweet or savory, main dish or appetizer, puff pastry can elevate any kind of dish. For this recipe, we're making single-serving puff pastry boats stuffed with a whole range of fillings. Whether you like the classic caprese with fresh tomato and mozzarella, the cheesy BBQ pulled chicken, or the more adventurous apple and bacon combo, these puff pastry boats make the perfect appetizer or snack for any occasion. 1. Caprese Boats

You'll Need:

  • 1 puff pastry sheet
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 shallots, diced
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • olive oil
  • mozzarella pearls
  • 1 whisked egg for the egg wash
  • grated Gouda cheese
  • fresh basil
  • grated parmesan cheese

Here's How:

1.1 Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a large mixing bowl, stir together the diced tomatoes, diced shallots, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Unroll the sheet of puff pastry dough on a clean work surface and cut out circles about 4 inches in diameter.

1.2 Roll up the sides of the puff pastry circles a few times and press the opposite ends together to form the shape of small boats.

1.3 Transfer the puff pastry boats to a baking dish or an oven-friendly skillet and spoon the tomato mixture into each one until they're all filled.

1.4 Place 1 mozzarella pearl on top of each boat.

1.5 Whisk 1 egg, brush egg wash evenly over the puff pastry dough, and grate Gouda cheese directly on top of the stuffed puff pasty boats.

1.6 Transfer the pan to the oven and bake at 350°F for 2530 minutes. Once the caprese puff pastry boats have finished baking, remove them from the oven, sprinkle grated parmesan on top, and garnish with fresh basil.

2. BBQ Pulled Chicken Boats

You'll Need:

  • 1 puff pastry sheet
  • 2 chicken breasts, cooked & pulled
  • corn kernels
  • diced green bell pepper
  • BBQ sauce
  • cheddar cheese cubes
  • 1 whisked egg for the egg wash
  • grated Gouda cheese
  • guacamole

Here's How:

2.1 Preheat the oven to 350°F and cut the puff pastry dough into circles 4 inches in diameter. In a large mixing bowl, stir together the cooked pulled chicken breast, corn, diced green bell pepper, and BBQ sauce.

2.2 Roll up the sides of the puff pastry circles a few times and press the opposite ends together to form the shape of small boats. Transfer the puff pastry boats to a baking dish or an oven-friendly skillet and spoon the BBQ chicken mixture into each one until they're all filled.

2.3 Place 1 cube of cheddar cheese on top of each boat.

2.4 Whisk 1 egg, brush egg wash evenly over the puff pastry dough, and grate Gouda cheese directly on top of the stuffed puff pasty boats. Transfer the pan to the oven and and bake at 350°F for 25–30 minutes. Once the BBQ pulled chicken puff pastry boats have finished baking, remove them from the oven and top with a spoonful of guacamole.

3. Apple, Camembert & Bacon Boats

You'll Need:

  • 1 puff pastry sheet
  • 2 apples, chopped
  • chopped thyme
  • chopped walnuts
  • bacon, fried & chopped
  • maple syrup
  • camembert slices
  • 1 whisked egg for the egg wash
  • grated Gouda cheese
  • sour cream & herb sauce

Here's How:

3.1 Preheat the oven to 350°F and cut the puff pastry dough into circles 4 inches in diameter. In a large mixing bowl, stir together the chopped apples, chopped walnuts, fried bacon, chopped thyme, and maple syrup.

3.2 Roll up the sides of the puff pastry circles a few times and press the opposite ends together to form the shape of small boats. Transfer the puff pastry boats to a baking dish or an oven-friendly skillet and spoon the apple & bacon mixture into each one until they're filled.

3.3 Place a slice of camembert on top of each boat. Whisk 1 egg, brush egg wash evenly over the puff pastry dough, and grate Gouda cheese directly on top of the stuffed puff pasty boats. Transfer the pan to the oven and and bake at 350°F for 25–30 minutes. Once the apple, camembert & bacon puff pastry boats have finished baking, remove them from the oven and top them with a dollop of sour cream & herb sauce.
