3 Amazing Stuffed Baguettes For Breakfast, Lunch, And Dinner

Baguettes are popular the entire world over, and for good reason! That's why we're going to show you 3 awesome stuffed baguettes that will blow your mind. We're stuffing that bready goodness with a couple of fried eggs and bacon for an egg-in-a-hole breakfast experience, wrapping bacon around a loaded hoagie for a nice picnic lunch, and for our third trick, we're making a classic Italian meatball sub with a twist. Totally epic!

1. Egg-In-A-Hole Breakfast Loaf

You'll Need:

  • 1 baguette
  • 5 slices of cooked bacon, divided
  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 5 eggs, divided

Here's How:

Cut 5 equally-sized holes in the top of the baguette and scoop out the insides. Dice the cooked bacon and divide it evenly between the 5 holes. Sprinkle 2-3 tablespoons of shredded cheddar cheese over the bacon in each hole. Crack an egg into each hole and cook the baguette in a preheated oven at 350°F for 15 minutes.

2. Bacon-Wrapped Pepperoni Baguette

You'll Need:

  • 1 baguette
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise, divided
  • 12 oz sliced pepperoni, divided
  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella, divided
  • ¼ cup ketchup, divided
  • 13 slices of American cheese
  • 16 oz sliced bacon

Here's How:

Preheat the oven to 350°F and slice the baguette lengthwise on 1 side, making sure the top and bottom are still connected. Spread ½ of the mayonnaise over the bottom half of the baguette and top with ⅓ of the pepperoni slices. Sprinkle ½ of the shredded mozzarella over the pepperoni slices, followed by another ⅓ of the pepperoni. Spread ½ of the ketchup over the layer of pepperoni and top with the American cheese slices. Spread the rest of the ketchup and mayonnaise over the American cheese slices and top with the remaining pepperoni slices. Sprinkle the rest of the mozzarella on top and carefully close the baguette. Arrange the uncooked bacon in 1 long double row so that the slices overlap. Place the stuffed baguette on top of the bacon in the middle and start wrapping the bacon around the baguette from both sides. Transfer the baguette to the oven and cook at 350°F for 45 minutes.

3. Italian Meatball Sub

You'll Need:

For the Italian meatballs:

  • 1 lb ground Italian sausage
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 2 tbsp basil
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups bread crumbs
  • 1⅔ cups marinara sauce

For the Italian meatball sub:

  • 1 baguette
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese, divided
  • Italian meatballs
  • fresh chopped basil to garnish

Here's How:

Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare the Italian meatballs. Add the garlic powder, pepper, basil, parmesan, egg, and bread crumbs to the ground Italian sausage and mix well until combined. Form meatballs from the mixture and fry them in a skillet until golden brown. Add the marinara sauce to the pan and let everything simmer for about 15 minutes. Cut a long rectangle out of the top of the baguette and scoop out the insides. Sprinkle ½ of the shredded mozzarella cheese and ½ of the grated parmesan cheese inside the bread boat and top with the Italian meatballs and marinara sauce. Sprinkle the rest of the mozzarella and parmesan in the bread boat, transfer the baguette to the oven, and cook at 350°F for 25 minutes. Garnish the meatball sub with fresh basil and you'll be saying mamma mia in no time!
