We love eggs! And because we especially love discovering new ways to prepare, serve, and enjoy them, here are 3 more breakfast egg hacks that are sure to awe and amaze!
1. Mini Fried Eggs
You’ll Need:
- 1 egg
- salt & pepper to taste
- 1 piece of toast
Here’s How:
1.1 Freeze the egg for at least 1 hour.
1.2 Peel the frozen egg, cut off the ends, and slice the remaining section into 4 even pieces.
1.3 Place the frozen egg slices in a lightly greased pan over low heat, cover the pan with a lid, and cook for about 8 minutes.
1.4 Season the mini fried eggs with salt and pepper and serve on toast with the spread of your choice.
2. Egg-in-a-Hole Toast
You’ll Need:
- 4 eggs
- 3 tbsp heavy cream
- ⅓ cup cheddar cheese + ⅓ cup mozzarella cheese
- salt, pepper, parsley & chives to taste
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 slices of white bread
Here’s How:
2.1 Mix the eggs, heavy cream, cheese, salt, pepper, parsley, and chives together.
2.2 Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes in the center of the bread slices.
2.3 Heat some butter in a pan over medium heat and toast the bread on both sides.
2.4 Pour the egg mixture into the cut-out areas of the toast, cover the pan with a lid, and cook until the eggs have set.
3. Egg Cake
You’ll Need:
- 5 egg whites + salt, whisked
- 6 egg yolks, whisked
- salt & pepper to taste
Here’s How:
3.1 Beat the egg whites with a little salt until stiff.
3.2 Pour the whisked egg yolks into a greased pan over low heat. Season with salt and pepper and cook briefly.
3.3 Spoon the stiff egg whites over the egg yolk omelet in the pan and distribute it evenly. Place the lid on the pan and cook for about 10 minutes.
3.4 Cut the dish down the middle and place one half on top of the other. Garnish the egg cake with ketchup or sour cream.
