3 Tasty Snacks Featuring Mashed Potatoes And Cheese

1. Cheesy Potato Bread

Ingredients:

For the dough:

  • ¾ cup flour
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 2 tsp salt

For the cheesy mashed potato filling:

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled & boiled
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise

Instructions:

Combine the flour, milk, melted butter, and salt and knead into a smooth dough. Roll the dough out into a circle and sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese in the center. Mash the warm, boiled potatoes and combine them with the mayonnaise. Spoon the mayo mashed potatoes on top of the mozzarella and sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top. Gently fold the edges of the dough in towards the center, over the filling, and seal the ends. Heat some olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Carefully transfer the cheesy potato bread to the warm pan and cook on both sides until golden brown.

2. Cheesy Fried Mashed Potato Balls

Ingredients:

For the cheesy mashed potato balls:

  • 6 medium potatoes, peeled & boiled
  • ¾ cup flour
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 5 cheese cubes

For the batter & breading:

  • 2 eggs
  • ⅓ cup milk
  • 1 cup flour
  • bread crumbs for the breading

Instructions:

Sprinkle the flour and salt over the boiled potatoes and mash until smooth. Divide the mashed potato mixture into 5 equal portions, place a cheese cube in the center of each portion, and shape the mashed potato mixture around each cheese cube to form a ball. Whisk the eggs, milk, and flour together to create the batter. Roll each cheese-stuffed ball through the batter and coat with breadcrumbs. Heat some cooking oil in a pan to 350°F and fry the cheesy mashed potato balls in the hot oil until golden brown.

3. Cheesy Mashed Potato Sticks

  • 7 small potatoes, peeled & boiled
  • 1 tbsp corn starch
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 5 string cheese sticks

Instructions:

Sprinkle the corn starch, thyme, parsley, salt, and pepper over the boiled potatoes and mash until smooth. Divide the mashed potato mixture into 5 equal portions and flatten each portion into an oblong shape. Place a string cheese stick on each portion and seal the mashed potato mixture around the cheese. Heat some cooking oil in a pan to 350°F and fry the cheesy mashed potato sticks in the hot oil until golden brown.
