3 Breakfast Bread Bowls To Start The Day Off Right

Toast for breakfast is nothing out of the ordinary, but does it always have to be the same old thing with butter or grape jelly? Definitely not, because the following recipes will show you 3 delicious ways to prepare your new favorite breakfast bread!

1. Veggie Bread Bowl

You'll Need:

  • 1 medium bread bowl
  • 1 mozzarella ball, sliced
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • 3 circular eggplant slices
  • 2 wide strips of yellow pepper
  • 2 wide strips of red pepper
  • 5 zucchini slices
  • 2 tbsp basil pesto
  • 3 oz grated parmesan

Here's How:

1. Using a suitable knife, make a circular cut in the top crust of the bread and then hollow out the inside of the bread as much as possible. Then place the first slice of mozzarella inside.

2. Now fry the vegetables on both sides in plenty of oil in a non-stick pan.

3. In sequence, layer the eggplant, another slice of mozzarella the peppers, some more mozzarella and, at the top, the zucchini inside the bread. On top of the zucchini, add the pesto and then the last slice of mozzarella. Sprinkle some parmesan onto your creation, then bake it in a convection oven for 15 minutes at 350°F.

2. Bacon, Egg & Avocado Bread Bowl

You'll Need:

  • 1 medium bread bowl
  • 4 slices of bacon
  • 5 oz spinach
  • ½ tomato
  • ½ avocado, diced
  • 3 oz shredded mozzarella
  • 1 egg yolk

Here's How:

1. Using a suitable knife, make a circular cut in the top crust of the bread and then hollow out the inside of the bread as much as possible. Fry the bacon in a pan. Take it out of the pan and then fry the spinach in the fat from the bacon.

2. Next, spread the spinach over the bottom of the bread and put the tomato on top of it, flat side down. Then add the avocado, chopped into cubes, and the bacon, chopped into small pieces.

3. For the first garnish, sprinkle the mozzarella on top and press it down lightly. Then bake the whole thing for 10 minutes in a convection oven at 350°F.

4. However, the highlight of the dish is the egg yolk, which should now be placed on top of the cheese. To finish, slide the bread back in the oven for five minutes, so that the outside of the yolk becomes firm.

3. Chili Bread Bowl

You'll Need:

  • 1 medium bread bowl
  • 6 oz ground beef
  • 2 oz corn
  • 2 oz kidney beans
  • 2 tbsp BBQ sauce
  • 3 oz tomato sauce
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese
  • fresh parsley
  • 3 oz shredded Monterey Jack or mozzarella

Here's How:

1. Using a suitable knife, make a circular cut in the top crust of the bread and then hollow out the inside of the bread as much as possible. Now prepare the chili: first fry the meat in some oil, then add the corn and beans and fry everything a little more. Next, add the barbecue sauce and the tomato sauce. Let the mixture simmer a little and then season to taste with salt and pepper. Stir thoroughly again then, to finish, transfer mixture into the bread.

2. Spread the cream cheese on top with a spoon and garnish with some parsley.

3. As the jewel in the crown, sprinkle the shredded Monterey Jack or mozzarella onto the bread. To melt the cheese, place the loaf into a convection oven for 15 minutes at 350°F. If you like, you can sprinkle some parsley on the bread for the finishing touch.

As you can see, there's no need to worry that these recipes mean preparing breakfast like this will take forever. The frying and the baking are very quick — and as a reward you can bite into a warm, crispy delicacy with a homemade filling. What better way to start the day?
