The Big Apple Cocktail – Fruity Cocktail Served In A Hollowed Apple

Frank Sinatra once sang about New York City's special brand of magic. A trip to the "city that never sleeps" is quite often an unforgettable one. But because the big city is not around the corner for everyone, some trips are easier dreamed of than made. With this recipe, let the Big Apple come to you! Hey, if you can't be in NYC, at least you can raise your "glass" to it with this delicious cocktail!

You'll Need:

  • 3 apples
  • 7 oz crushed ice
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 1/4 cup vodka
  • 1/4 cup amaretto
  • 1/4 cup caramel liquor

Here's How:

  1. Cut off the top part of 2 apples and hollow out the rest using a spoon. Make sure that the walls of the apple remain intact, because it will later be used as a drinking vessel. Cut a hole in the center of the top part of the apples, right where the stem is located. The hole should be big enough so that a straw can easily pass through.
  2. Put the apple flesh, along with a third chopped apple and the rest of the ingredients into a blender and mix until smooth. The resulting mixture will have a slushy consistency.
  3. Pour the cocktail into the apples, and cover with the special, customized lid! Now stick a straw through the top and enjoy!

Now it's time to sit back and relax, apple in hand, and dream about your next vacation! If you don't drink alcohol or would like to make a kid-friendly version of the apple cocktail, simply replace the alcohol with more apple juice, caramel syrup, and perhaps a pinch of cinnamon and sugar. The presentation alone will have the kids excited! Cheers!
